Customer Reviews

YukFortunately, it didn't cost much, but this is not what I was picturing when I ordered it. The handle edges are too sharp. It seems shiny like SS, but because of it's cheap stamped out design, it isn't going to be used. I'll look for another ice scoop. 1Cheap, utilitarian...not an item for the top of your barThis is not a "nice" piece for use on a bar. It is a very utilitarian, cheaply made item. Mine arrived with several scratches, and if this is stainless steel all the way through, fine, but I have my doubts, considering how the scratches looked. If you just want something to move ice with, this is will do, but how long it will last is up to question. 2Scoops without meltingI actually don't use this for scooping ice. I work in a chemistry lab and some of our chemicals need to be dried at 120C. I melted our plastic scooper by trying to transfer stuff in a hurry instead of waiting for things to cool down. This metal one hasn't melted yet. Not much else to say other than that it works. 5Avoid This Non-Returnable Cheap Thin 2-piece Stamped Metal ScoopThis is a cheap, thin unsatisfactory product. It is thin-gage metal, and the pointed edge of the upper handle creates of a dull blade-tip in your hand (see photo >> it's not a sharp, but it is not suitable as a hand tool). It arrived with visible corrosion at the spot-weld that joins the handle to the scooper bowl (see second photo). What's worse is that the ice scoop is not returnable. This is a lousy product, in my opinion. I wish I had not purchased it. 1Perfect All Around, Wish I Bought Two!We got this for our bottom freezer ice maker. We have for kids, and I quite honestly didn't want their hands in the ice tray! This was the perfect solution. It's the perfect size to pour into a large glass and fits in the small rack next to our ice tray. The kids enjoy using it, so it puts my mind at rest that there are no grubby hands in my ice! It's also dishwasher safe for the times when the kids drop it! I'm going to buy a second one today! 5Doesn't work well with countertop ice machinesI knew this 4 ounce (120 ml) scoop was gonna be small but it is smaller than I prefer. I find no fault in the product and it's great quality. For my small ice machine, I find a short soup ladle works much better than this scoop. This scoop is long and straight which makes it very difficult to collect ice. It just slides out before I can get the scoop level enough to hold the ice. I must remove the ice basket and tilt it for the scoop to hold any ice. However, the scoop is useful for other purposes. 5Sharp EdgesThe edges are really sharp. Wouldn't be an issue if the handle didn't have sharp edges too. I had to wrap handle with duct tape to use. I am not using for food, so not a big deal. Would not want to use for ice. It is thin and sharp. Would think it would be cold and painful to use with ice. Ergonomically it hurts my hand even with the extra tape. Poor design. 2SHARP METAL HANDLE CAN CUT YOU! CHEAP DESIGNSorry to say, this is garbage. I would have been better off with a plastic version. It would have been much bigger (this thing is tiny) and would have had a holdable handle. The handle on this is a curved piece of metal that cuts into your skin as you hold it. I suppose this would be fine for sugar, but it is uncomforable and cheap looking as well as feeling. the edges are sharp, which means, no deberming, as other companies provide. I actualy bought it for snow salt tossing, but when I am done, I will toss IT. 1Not the best ice scoop. This is basically a piece of junk thin metal scoop that is small. 4 ounce is a misleading size. What does that even mean to the average non-professional ice scoop operator? Nothing. It's a small scoop that feels cheap, gets immediately freezing cold when near ice for a few seconds because it's so thin, and if it has any benefit at all, it's that the edges are so sharp, it can chop up ice. However, it's so light that it does a poor job of that as well. 2Looks like an ice scooper works like plasticI got this cheap perhaps as an add on. I figured one scoop is the same as another. I was wrong. I have an issue in that I live in a hot climate and the ice sometimes melts a bit either when it is delivered to my neighborhood grocery store or after I purchase it and am on my way home. This causes some of the cubes to melt and refreeze together. This ice scoop is very thin, light weight and really not useful in scooping ice. It might work well as a rice or flour scooper but it is a far cry from the heavy duty ice scoopers I've seen and used in the past. It is cheap to buy and the materials reflect the cost. Again it is fine for scooping dog food or dry items but I wouldn't recommend it for ice particularly if you need it to break apart small chunks of ice frozen together. 3
