Worth the cost and then someAfter going back and forth for 6 months I finally bit the bullet and ordered the EEP-100 2 months ago. I work in a hearing protection required environment and having to pull one earplug to talk to people or on my phone was reducing the effectiveness of hearibg protection. These work GREAT! I did go with the sold separately skull screws and they are extremely comfortable for me, much like my normal expanding foam 30NRR plugs. Not only are these perfect for 10hrs plus on a factory floor but they work very well for shooting sports. I have shot up to magnum rifle cartridges with these coupled with the skull screws and find them very effective.Very comfortable with the skull screws, long battery life, high NRR, if you are on the fence about them, honestly just do it. I wish I hadn't waited so long myself.5MixedI purchased these for pheasant hunting after getting tinnitus at an airshow from a jet. They seem to work well though I do not know their response rate from sharp incoming noises. My hearing certainly is not worse. I cannot get them to turn off (a long 2 second press of the power button). There should be a double beep but I just get the volume adjustment tones so am not happy about that. It would great if they would add status lights to the outside.3Very good value for money compared to the $1300Used these for a rifle and handgun class, 2 days each. Worked great. I never had them fall out while shooting. They kept most of thr noise out. And the amplification of noises worked well. They lasted each day for all 8 hours and the case is nice to keep them organized.Complaining..... the wind does affect them, and sometimes they can be a pain to get INTO your ear canal. Not sure why they got stuck going in.I would tell anyone shooting a rifle or handguns even to give them a try4Excellent noise suppression for work & firing line hearingI use these for work in factories, shooting both pistol and rifle, and on occasion, hearing aids.These do not provide "noise cancellation" like Bose QC35 headphones or the like - they suppress noise like ear plugs.Though I haven't checked them against a calibrated dB sound meter, my sense is they clip noise at just below 80dB.Directional hearing is great, the three level sound amplification works great, and if the battery dies, they work just like the orange foam plugs.I use the bubble ear inserts that came with them and also the Skull Skrews. I've used them so much, I've worn out three pair of inserts.Trick here: be gentle on removal and reattachment of the ear inserts. The things are small and clumsy application of force can mean a broken ear bud.The skull skrews, if you don't slip them on properly, can partially block the sound channel and muffle the sound in that ear. Hard to adjust to, but not a show stopper if you're too busy or your hands too dirty to adjust the insert.The charger box is great. I also have a charger from a dead set of TEP-100s, and that works too.5Not for meI bought these because I work in a machine shop and I want to reduce the noise while still communicating with my colleagues. With regular plugs in I get the cancellation, but cannot hear people talk and have to take them out. These have pros and cons in my specific situation.Pros: loud noises are canceled, as advertised.Ambient sound is amplified, as advertised.Batteries last all day, for me at least(8.5 hours)Cons: All ambient sound is amplified, so I get the drone of all noises below the level the ear plugs cancel amplified to the point that I still can't hear people.Uncomfortable. If I adjust them once or twice they become irritating and leave my ears hurting after use. And pressing the button takes a lot of pressure so it hurts the ears every time you adjust the amplification.The price. Though cheap by comparison to some, they are virtually unusable to me so I will just use the cheap regular plugs.These are great for abrupt loud noises in a generally quiet environment, but beyond that, they just don't work well for consistently loud environments.2Same as the Tactical TEP-100 ??I use these for allot of shotgunning sports with the gray skulls ear tips and I really just bought these for the color.. i also have the TEP-100 , and there no noticable difference. The TEP 100 can me submerged in water these cant. The TEP 100 has 2 audio levels this one has 3. The TEP 100 has a battery powered case. But for the price I would have bought these and not TEP 100, but it was too late for me. The housing are identical on both so they can be charged on either case. These are great and worth the $$, no matter which ones you buy.Both do what there design for, many complain about wind noise; yeah at times you may get it but it's not that bad as I read about. Battery life is great no issues yet, usually have them on for a min. of 3 hrs straight 2-3 times a week.My two boys perfer the walker rechargeable because of the gray Skull tip length, but If you pull ur ear up like instructed most adults should not have any issues... usually. They also come with other tips and they work fine, but I prefer the higher db.5Good product for the moneyI really like the fit and having ear protection with the ability to hear your surroundings. They do tend to shut down with wind as people have stated as well as noises you wouldn't expect. Still running on the first charge, I use them for casual target shooting and plinking with weapons from 22 pistols to 450 Bushmaster rifle, seem to work very well. The three different levels of amplification start out very low and even the highest seems low to me, I wish they were just a bit louder for hunting from my tree stand. These would be perfect if they would amplify just one more level. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend for range shooting indoor or outside5So comfortable, you'll forget you're wearing them.Best product I've ever bought to improve my accuracy.Old school over ear noise reduction headsets are sweaty, get uncomfortable after an hour or more and get in the way when you're trying to hunker down behind the scope. With these in they're so comfortable and unnoticeable I sometimes forget I'm wearing them.I highly recommend getting the extra twisting style foam plugs for a little extra noise reduction if you're going to an indoor range.If I had one complaint to make it would be that gusts of wind tend to set them off and shut off audio. If you're trying to have a conversation and the wind starts blowing it can get annoying. The higher end model has some tiny foam stick on pads that cover up the mic area to block the wind. Tiny foam pads cost nothing and would have been nice to include with this model.5Happy customerBest option I have come across for shotgunning, does not get in the way with mounting the gun.Also had them out pistol shooting and they supplied adequate protection with hot 10mm and 357mag loads. Expect they will be sufficient for rifles.They r a bit expensive but well worth it.5More comfortable than the Walker brand as long as...Quick history on why I wear this type of hearing protection: Last year I was struck in my left ear by what is called SSHL or Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss. Most cases go undiagnosed and are normally blamed on a virus. The auditory nerve is damaged causing deafness in that ear that cannot be fixed. I wear one of these in my good ear to protect it from any further damage. I was wearing a regular foam ear plug in my good ear all the time to protect it since it's all I have left but couldn't hear anything else around me at work.I originally bought the Walker's rechargeable ear buds and they work great. They are kind of big which makes my ear sore after 3 or 4 hours of use and my ear has never been able to get used to them. So I bought these to try out since they look smaller. The first day I used one of the rubber tips. I have discovered over time to put a little bit of chap stick on the tips to allow them to seat into my ear canal better making it much more comfortable. The rubber tips were pretty good but at the end of the day, my ear was pretty irritated. The next day, I used one of the memory foam tips from the Walker's ear buds and I totally forgot I had them in at the end of the day!!! What a difference they made.Overall, I like these but they need to include the style of memory foam tips like the Walker's brand has with them. The only other thing I would like is if they weren't neon green.4
