Not good enough for my beautiful modelsI was really hoping to love this cabinet and order a dozen more for a display in my garage. The case is disappointing in several ways. First, the black lacquer finish is mottled and uneven. It actually looks like it was painted with a brush - a used brush, no less. Second, the overall quality is just not what I expected for this kind of money (cheap looking). I was hoping to avoid the custom cabinet route, but this item definitely expresses that one gets what one pays for.Maybe another color is better? 3BeautifulMy wife bought this case for me although I had my eye on this one and others for awhile. After reading some of the reviews I was half way thinking she should have gone with one of the cheaper cases but it's beautiful! The mirror back is excellent although, judging from the light weight, it's probably not glass. The door opens to the side, which is much better then top or bottom. The finish (oak) is high gloss and quality.It's a wonder case and a nice piece of cabinetry. I've already ordered another one! 5Paint has drips and is amateur.Paint is very very bad. Super cheap construction, and looks like it. 1A beautiful Display CaseI am very satisfied with this display case. The construction is solid. The finish on mine was very even. My Diecast cars look amazing in these. The only flaw I would say is not wit the case itself my the sheet rock anchors the company supplies to hang the case. I went to the hardware store and spent $2.50 ish for anchors that would open up on the other side of the sheet rock. Given the cost of this case and the $1000 or so the you will likely have inside i would recommend the company spring for better anchors. I have 24 scale models and a couple of my Dad's 1940 balsa wood models in this case.It is heavy, so you will need to mount to the wall studs if possible. 5Displays my cars very nice.Very well made, came with mounting hardware, which seemed to be strong enough. I did put 2 small L brackets on the bottom as an extra precaution. I have purchased 2 of these and plan on buying 1 more. 5Diecast Cabinet ReviewThis cabinet is pretty much as described except for the mirror. The description is a little misleading as it states that the back of the cabinet is mirrored. They are correct it is mirrored, but not with an actual mirror that one generally thinks of when something is described as having a mirrored surface. This mirror is a plastic film like material that when viewed, one can see dimples and waves in the reflection. This distracts from what would otherwise be a very nice cabinet. Oh, and the inside shelf depth is just shy of 5.25 inches not 5.5 as listed in the product description. 4Wall Cabinet not made for a wall........Nice cabinet, but 3 attempts and I still am unable to hang it on the wall. I put in the 2 anchors and screws that were supplied and tried to line up the screws into the slots and the screws pushed into the wall and became loose. I got larger plastic anchors and screws, but the mounting slots are very small and only take a sheet rock screw (provided) and just 2 sheet rock screws will NOT hold a 31 pound cabinet plus 12 die cast cars..larger hardware will just not work as the screw heads will not slide into the tiny mounting slots.....so for today I gave up, and now have to patch 6 holes in my wall...I am pretty handy, but the wall mounting system for this cabinet is very poor. It's off to Home Depot tomorrow to see what they have to put this cabinet up so it will be safe and not come down (and ruin all of my 1/18th Vipers). If you want a good cabinet this is it, but if you want it on a wall, good luck ! 4
